SRT = Special Response Team
The SRT team is organized as follows:

The team leaders and seven officers constitute the primary entry team.
SRT shall assist agency personnel and outside agencies during critical incidents. SRT response situations include, but are not limited to the following: barricaded subjects,
sniper incidents, hostage situations, special security situations, Search and Arrest Warrants, and other situations of a critical or high risk nature in which specialized response would be beneficial.
Selection of Special Response Team Members:
1. Two (2) continuous full-time or equivalent years of law enforcement experience.
2. Previously demonstrated the ability to remain calm under stressful situations and conditions.
3. Receive a favorable written recommendation from the officer’s immediate supervisor documenting the officer’s ability to remain calm under stressful situations and other
qualifications as deemed appropriate by the immediate supervisor.
4. Score 90% on both day and night qualifications with all assigned firearms.
5. No disciplinary actions resulting in a suspension from duty within the previous twelve months.
6. No sustained allegations involving excessive force within the previous twelve months.
7. Applicants to the Special Response Team will be interviewed by the Team Commander.
8. Final applicants will be required to pass a psychological examination
9. The final decision on appointment to the Special Response Team will be that of the Operations Division Commander with the recommendations of the Team Commander.
